Sakura was engineered for climbers who move between systems without wanting to switch ropes. Its true 11.7mm diameter runs cleanly through mechanical devices and hitch-tending setups alike, making it equally at home in SRS (stationary rope) and MRS (moving rope) configurations with compatible hardware.
A cover built for mechanical devices.
The tightly woven 24-strand polyester cover keeps its round, consistent profile under load, so ascenders, friction hitches, and mechanical descenders track smoothly without grabbing or glazing. The high-density braid also locks the cover to the core, which means virtually no cover milking — even after months of hard production climbing.

A firm braided polyester core keeps elongation to a minimum. Less stretch means less bounce at the tie-in point, more efficient ascents, and precise positioning when you're working a limb walk far from the stem. The core construction resists work hardening, so the rope keeps its hand and its flex life deep into its service career instead of turning stiff and cranky.

Skinny ropes are fast, but many climbers find 11mm lines thin in the grip on long days. At 11.7mm and just 6.5 lbs per 100 ft, Sakura carries like an 11mm rope but fills the hand like a 1/2" line — better purchase for footlocking, body thrusting, and natural-crotch work, with no weight penalty aloft.
